new picks i made

i would like some feed back on how to make them better the the picks were worked with 320 grit paper then 600 grit. 1 was string under srink tubing the others are rings of tubing covered by another tube

Nice handles, very creative. does shrink wrap hold up over time or does it tend to loosen? I suppose it can be reshrunk if that happens, were you using wiper inserts?

I agree with cjames73 that a good polishing (with finer grades of paper) would really make them smooth.

Can I ask why you chose shrink tubing over plasti-dip?

the picks are made from wiper inserts. i used a set of chain saw files and a triange file. I had two resons for using wrap over dip one was price wrap $2 and dip $7, the other is that if i remeber corretly the dip seemed softer and i wanted a firm handle for better control. The the coil tension wrench gives good feed back the coil heps when i need light pressure. It allows me to see the pressure in its movment. i used 600 grit to do the final where do you get finer? and does anyone ever try useing a gem tumbler on them?

Many thanks for the info, they are beauties and it can be seen all the TLC that has gone into making them. Think I'll have to look around for some shrink tubing Finer grades are usually found in hardware stores and auto repair suppliers here in the UK, hopefully it's the same where you are.

i think i have to be on here for longer and post more before i can offer them here and advice is alwayes welcome. i havent found need for help so far but im sure one day i will need it. i do have to say thanks to a few on this site they inspired me to do better.

for the wiper inserts, they seem to bend easily for tension tools, do you have any bending problems with the picks?
