tubular locks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

WTF? Huh, what? READ !

Postby Romstar » 3 Jun 2004 20:04

Oh sweet lord, I'm going to turn into Marso if this keeps up.

Does ANYONE read anymore?

There should be some sort of tracking system for new users to so that they have to read a selected group of FAQs or somthing before they post.

Even I made the mistake of posting before I ever introduced myself.

At least the majority of the lurkers have read a lot of the site.

People, PLEASE search before asking a question. If you don't understand, tells us you read it and don't understand and we'll try to help you figure it out. Just do a little work for yourself first at least.

Okay, I'm done.

I have made a new introduction page which includes the basic FAQs and the introduction page and the like. Lets hope we adopt it and if so people read it.

Romstar you said you're supposed to introduce yourself before posting. The problem I had was I couldn't start a new topic but it says

"Sorry, but only moderators can post topics in this forum."

So I just started to post.

Anyway I'll introduce myself on this topic that I'm new only received my first basic picks last week along with the 8 pin tubular southord. I modified it to work on the 7 pins (without the need of a drill press). Followed the simple instructions given by unlock and was able to do my first tubular lock in 5 seconds. Brought a more expensive one (ace II lock) and struggled on that but it still took under 2 minutes which I don't think is bad for a beginner. So I hope that answers your question muguticutits.

As for the other picks was so happy to be able to open every padlock I had and most other locks. Haven't been able to do the house lock yet (Union and Yale) too much pressure because it's at an awkward angle.

I'm sorry I don't know where to post introductions but I'll just hijack this thread to introduce myself. Sorry all.

Should also mention that if you're doing it as a hobby then I would stay clear from tubulars because it's so easy and poses no challenge. It's a real waste of time unless you're using it to make money in your profession (locksmith)

At the top of every forum there is a thread "IF YOU'RE NEW, WELCOME. :) PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING!". At the bottom of this thread there is a post that states where to post introductions.

Funny story, while searching a little bit on tubular locks I opened up this page during my search. Just thought it was a little ironic.
