When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Made some nifty lockpics

Postby Garrett » 22 Jun 2004 4:57

Hi there i am new to this forum so i am not sure if someone made this already but from what i have searched i dont see anything similar.

I have used the common scalpel and replaced the blade with thick needle wich has been heated and bended. It give a great elasticity and a very well touch. You can feel everything in the lock.

For tension wrench i used a big twezer (electronics) that has the double L.

I managed to pick an standard european lock (i will post picts for all stuff as soon as i set up my cam) in 20 seconds and 30. Well i am new to this and it loked too fast for me. Although 2 to 3 atempts worked i had to leave the third because it seemed i started to put too much presure on tension wrench.

Congrats on the pick, sounds like you are on your way. :P
If I were you though, I would consider a new moniker....

That probably explains the lack of replies......I held off for that reason alone.

However, elasticity is not something you really want in a pick....sorta lessens the feedback.
Image If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

Are you really a thief, if it is thats ok. Can i get your name address, a list of the things you have taken and posibly the phone number of your local police station. Also could you lable all the things you stole and put them on a table so it's easy to inspect?
Thanks for your help.

You people are funny...
Of course i am not a thief as my nick implies. Just thought it would be funny. Well if it bothers you i will change that (if sombody tell me how).

By the way is it ok if i post the picts on photobucket.com and then post the link here? Or this will not work?

Send a pm to a moderator about your name and yes photobucket works on here. There is a tutorial in the faq section about posting photos

I can't really make out the blurred ones, but overall, they look pretty nice!

I will try to take some new pictures. I had the macro off on my cam. This why they are blured.

Do they work OK? It would seem from the photos that the tang on the picks are round - Do they allow sufficient movement within the lock?
