Making a rake from stainless steel

I have made 2 very good picks from stainless steel and have
one piece left from which I want to make a "rake".

Has anyone any idea how to put a pattern of a rake on the stainless blank??

I am not much good at doing it freehand on my grinder and dont want to ruin my last blank.

Would appreciate any ideas. Thanx.

Probably the easiest way to do that is to make a photocopy of the pick you want to make, cut it out and glue it to the piece of metal (after having scuffed the piece of metal to help the paper stick (use a glue stick)).

Wait for it to dry..... and then spray paint the part (I prefer red paint shows up better). When the paint is dry.... peel off the paper you stuck on to the piece of steel.

And you have a perfect template.....

one thing I forgot to mention...... mist the paint on the part...... do that several times..... otherwise the paint may bleed (seep) under the paper.... makes for a pain when trying to figure out where to grind and not to.
