Street sweepers

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Street sweepers

I now have probably an unlimited supply of tension wrench material 8) I know someone who works for my state and he says they change the bristles every month. They have around ten machines, and normally they throw the bristles away but if it works out I could take them of their hands. So far I have 10 or so and have built every design of tension wrench i know of. Basically im looking for a bunch of designs, any ideas?

i would be willing to get some of those off your hands if you end up getting alot of them  ...PM if you wanna get rid of any when you get them... :)

As for wrench ideas, what do you have so far...I can only think of about 7-10 wrenchs that really have a use , then about 50 ways to make those 10 different....so it depends what you got, and what your looking for kinda

Just a note* The OP didn't exactly come out and say he would be willing to get rid of any bristles, though he hasn't responded to this thread and say he wouldn't either.

Just don't get your hopes thinking he would without having confirmation. In a way I could see it as being selfish not to since it was said they could have an endless supply, but we just don't know for sure, yet.

Either way I asked first so I got DIBS on first go around

Just kinding if the OP is willing to part/trade some great, if not then not so good...cant win without playing.

Anyways. Have you made any top tension tools? Two pronged tension tools? (Kaotic has a nifty sticky on the subject.) Take a look in LN21's work and the homebrew hall of fame, see if there's any more ideas for tension wrench ideas in there.

Don't worry, if i do get a bunch i will be giving some out  the problem with them is if you bend them directly they snap but if I hold them with the pliers and push on a table they bend fine. Once bent there very strong and so far I have made double sided ones an the ones for the indented door knobs (tulip I think their called) i made three of each. their between 15-18 inches long. Oh and its not definite that I'll be getting them

Your challenge is to make a really good adjustable two pronged tension wrench 8)

Dunno how easy that is, homebrew... can probably be done...
Look up well known pick suppliers like majestic and LAB etc. and check out what they supply... some of it is pretty cool...

Experiment with different ways of making the wrench stay in the keyway (altering thickness, adding teeth etc)

the main problem I have with using a sweeper bristle wrench is that mine slips in deadbolt lock keyways...

I'd start queueing up for some as well, except for postage... I found all of 2 bristles in my life and now the sweepers in my area seem to have big yellow plastic ones, so I'm going to need to experiment with hot bending myself some hacksaw blade wrenches (which I'd prefer not to have to do)

Ah, well... sweet find man, and good luck with getting a deal going... if nothing else they can et least tell you where they dump all the bristles if they're just trash.
All your locks are belong to us.

Kaotic met your challenge a couple years back. It was in a sticky 2 posts above this one.
