My new homemade picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

My new homemade picks

Postby steve0527 » 8 May 2008 7:18

I made new picks at work today. The handles are made of Plexiglass and covered in rubber dip. The picks are wiper blades. I still need to sand the picks to get a mirror shin.

Plexiglass?

How did you manage that? How do you keep the pick in the glass?

Picks look good...

I use diamond pits and blades to cut it out. The pick is made of 3 pieces 2 handles and pick. I grove out the inside of the handle and super glue it all to getter.

They're very good mate.

Do you get good feedback through the handles then?

+1

It appears they also have rivets in them, the top 2 and the bottom 1.(the little bumps)

Is this so, and if so, are they all going to have them or did you just do it to hold it together on these while it dries knowing you would cover them up with The Dip...not saying it looks bad just wondering...

bumber, those little bumps are the popped air bubbles in the plasti-dip type coating he used. Unless stirred properly bubbles will always be a problem with that stuff.

Whatever ya do, do not shake it. :)

^HMM, VERY interesting they are...I do like the clear ones but the seeing the silver stripe is odd, not bad but new. So far though they look good, keep it up...make a few more sets if you can. (<material wise)
