I'm curious about your torque tools. You seem to have put handles on some of them and I'm wondering how this affects their usability. I'm starting to experiment with putting handles on picks but hadn't really thought about doing this with torque tools.

When picking pin tumblers I generally know that a pin is set by feeling a slight relaxation in the pressure on my fingers received through the torque tool. If applying more than the necessary torque then it will be felt as a stronger vibration along with an audible click.

Do you use your torque tools very lightly, and if so, can you still get good feedback with those handles on them?

i mainly use the handled ones on simple locks that i don't need feedback with. they affect the feed back lots< there is none

Oh, I see. Thanks for the input; I'll stick to leaving mine unhandled.

cheers

Man, you're a prolific producer of picking products! :D

(I couldn't resist.)

One thing I'm wondering... It looks as if your picks are made by bending, rather than grinding -- so your effective 'hook' radius is quite large, meaning you need quite a bit of maneuvering space in the keyway. Have you had any trouble using those picks with paracentric keyways (ones where the wards cross the center line a lot; making it difficult to move a pick)?
