Needed tools:
Triangle file , round chain saw file (they are cheap and work great)
Vice
Materials
I use wiper inserts
Step 1
Transfer you pick design to the metal right now I use a free hand marker but there’s many ways to do this.
Step2
Clamp the pick in the vice with the pick lines just showing.
Step3
Work the end of the pick with the right file for the shape you want: triangle for flat or rounded, chain file for concaved. A

Step4
Next I use the round file to make round cuts to the pick line. B

Step5
Next I use the triangle file to take the tops off what metal is left and flatten out the neck. I do it this way because the round files cut though the mass of metal faster than taking it all off with the flat of the file. I take it to the size and shape I want. C

Step6
Then loosen the vice and move the pick neck out and retighten then it’s time to de-bur the pick and sand it. I wrap the sand paper around the files and smooth all of it out using the files as support for the paper.
