question about picks from Russia

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Hi skwor, welcome to the forum.
Your picks seem well made: good shapes and well sanded. Congrats! If you look around the forum you can see they are as good as other homebrew.

The next step could be build some more wrenches to fit different keyways.

Cheers :)

whoever is knocking your picks is envious. the proof is in the picking. keep making them and if necessary make smaller ones and larger ones, but I think the ones I see are probably large enough, a a key, in the photo would give a better read on that. any common key, not one you use, you don't want the bitting on the internet for your door key. :)

I didn't noticed the tapered wrench. I tried the same thing with a bike spoke and it didn't turn out very well: it slipped out easily. I hope your allen wrench works better than my spoke. For sure your wrench is wider and can grip more than a spoke.

Cheers :)

PS: you should keep your picture size smaller than 800 x 600 px...

hi! it's me again
*pls delete my previous post with big pictures
thanks for advices
here is photo with different keys, common in Russia.
so i think this is a good shape.and what you thinking about it? (i paint this shape, partially use shapes from DIY as prototype).
and now about tension: i thought trick. my tension can be use with different keyways. it have a special form. it's thin on the end of it and more wide at the base. i make a scratch with my grinder as you can see on picture. it's give a perfect friction and fixation of wrench in keywas with different fit.(when i push it)
i think that those peoples just want to stop me, when i post photo in theme about sale picks. (i just need some money)

seeing the picks with the keys, I would try the smaller half diamond, the one thats not undercut on those locks, the hook is a usable shape but you also need a slightly smaller one too. and the Undercut halfdiamond, looks as large as any pick should be. work on the smaller ones and pick your practice locks with the result, thats the only way to prove a pick, and forget about those people who are knocking your stuff, don't show it to them, they are only impressed by themselves, let them brag and show you stuff, don't show them anything, don't try for thier respect, its not worth the try and it won't last. let the braggarts talk about themselves, and don't give them anything to talk about you. keep em in the dark. People whos first reference is to thier ego dont have good sources of information anyway, they think the world is as they understand it, without reference to reality checks.

I've got to agree; those are nice! Ever try something that doesn't fold? That might give you better feedback.

Nice to have you here!

your picks all fold up together into one handy small package for easy carrying, when you do this any ammount of feedback is deminished when it goes through the hinge part.

If you were to make each pick seperatly with a full length handle you would be able to feel what is going on in the lock better.

does this help :)

I do not speak russian, but a online translator gave me this:

без шарнира или поворотного пункта в середине

(without a hinge or turning point in the middle)

Great Picks

What locks do you come across?

Do you have any lever lock picks?
