We then cut it open to reveal the mold and it made a perfect impression of the handle and pick. It's flexible yet strong enough for us to shove clay in there to make more handles. You can also bake this so once you put the clay in you can bake it in the mold.
And here's the final product:

Start to finish, it probably took us like 4 hours including making the original handle. The thing of putty would probably make four molds all together. The one package of Sculpey we used would probably make ~3 handles. Going to see how the Fimo does next time...
Cost: $20 for the putty, and about $2.50 for the Sculpey.
