Progress!

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I bought some practice locks from someone on this site. I managed to pick the 3 5-pin Schlage locks multiple times. Now working on some Titan locks that I believe are 6-pin. No luck yet.

I've found that picking old, dirty door locks to be harder than nice clean ones. The dirt and grime makes them feel sluggish and difficult to "feel".

Next up some 8-pin tubular locks. Need to buy a pick for that.

I agree. Though I found that when it's full of WD-40 the pins are getting slippery (the top of my pick slips down much easier) which is not too helpful either :)

I think the type you are dealing with is called Titan K6 (in case you need help of info or need to google it for whatever reason)

Here is a quick summary of Titan locks:
In the order of increasingly elaborate security:
K-ms,(~= K-ns) & K1 are 5 pins,
K 5 is dimples (5 active 5 passive pins).
T100 has 6 pins plus 8 side pins (4-4 per side).
Then the top of the range T200 with 6 pins and 5 sliders.
So if it has no side pins it is K6.

Good luck with the picking. :)

As for the tubular pick:
I think the best price/quality ratio out there is the Southord 8 pin.
The HPC is better quality but is also more expensive :)
Then there is even higher up, but the name I wanted to write slips my mind monetarily. Anyway for a hobbyist I think Southord is already good enough :)

ARF, he's an American, I think he means Kwikset Titan, not the european company by the name Titan..

Here's a comparison of Kwikset lock types: http://nebraska-locksmith.com/articles/kwikset.pdf

Kwikset TITAN uses the KW10 keyway

Ah thanks Squelchtone :)

I wasn't aware that he was American and I also didn't knew about the Kwickset Titan. :)

LOL
If anyone I'm currently trading with reads this: I meant European Titan when I offered it. I hope that the fact that I called it "Titan K1" and "Titan K6 (dimples)" made that clear :D
Now I will have to individually notify everyone currently I'm trading with and is affected. :(

That said if it wasn't clear (and we are trading and I forgot to write to you), and you have any, even the slightest worry about that, PM me asap so that I can find a solution for the misunderstanding and swiftly rectify any possible dissatisfaction.
I think I usually mention that they are all Euro profiles, but honestly I can't recall every conversation about every trade.
