Plug spinners

Has anyone made homemade plug spinners that work? I would like one, but cant afford it right now. If you can, describe how you achieved making a plug spinner. thanks

PM Dr Dave who has an excellent breakdown of a homemade plug spinner you can make from very simple materials. It's apparently pretty cheap to make, too.

I do have a Home-Made Plug spinner that works equal to the "A-5" Spinner sold on the net... I own that too, and used its basic Design to make mine for a Secondary Pick-Set.

I've disassembled it, making Scans & notes while doing so and can EMail the "ZIP" File to anyone who wants it. I'm going to U/L the Images onto a site where I can simply Post the links to everybody can enjoy this tool. The cost is under $5.00 USD to make.

Until I've loaded the Images to the web, simply EMail me directly and I'll EMail you the "ZIP" File that’s 200Kb.

Just for those who can legally purchase one in Canada, they apparently run around $50 for a decent one, so making your own may be a viable option.

If a decent one costs 50$, is that one on southords site any good at 20$?

Remember, that's $50 Canadian, which is probably around the $35-40 american dollars. I've never seen one in real life like southords on the internet, so I honestly couldn't say, and it's kinda hard from just looking at it.

For $20 though it might be worth trying, 'cept by the time it got here I'd end up paying close to $50 thanksto customs....I wonder whatever happened to NAFTA....

I've had quite a few requests for the "ZIP" File & tried to reply within 12-24 Hrs to each request.

For those of you who have gotten them & took the time to build it PLEASE Post you results and Improvements you may have come up with.

If anyone has "Web-Space" to Upload the ZIP File and/or the JPG & PDF files that are in it, less than 500Kb for BOTH ZIP & Extracted files, PLEASE Upload & Leave a link in this tread.

ok i got the basic plug spinner from lockpicks.com and i cant seem to use it correctly. i pick my lock backwards wind the spinner and insert and let the plug go with the spinner. Sadly the plug doesnt seem to spin fast enough because the pins set on the way to the other side. What do i do different.

Try this and let me know how you get on.
Put the blade of the spinner as high as possible inside of the keyway (where the pins are ) and then fire, the above method works perfectly with the HPC Flip-itâ„¢'...just shoving a spinner any old way into a lock will not always work.

Believe it or not, managed to do it a couple of times with a tension wrench and a rubber band. Might've been a couple of flukes, but it was two or three different locks.
