What's in YOUR wallet?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

What's in YOUR wallet?

Postby phrygianradar » 18 Aug 2014 21:07

This is my current custom kit:

Image

It fits in my back pocket and I take it everywhere with me.
The only thing missing that would normally be there is the companion bogota that broke not long ago in an Instakey core…

If you guys want to add pics of your current sets, that would be cool!

I forgot we already have this thread going... let this be a lesson (yet again) to use the search button. Shame on me...

Most days, these are either in one of my cargo pockets, or in my bag:

And these are typically in my shirt pocket:

A couple of my picks fall into the don't leave home without this category. Hence the redundancy.

@Hachronn: I got one of those new Peterson sets and I actually really like the newer prybars, the size and quality of the pouch, but the tripple humped "bogota"esk rakes haven't been real impressive to me. I have only gotten one lock picked (that 7pin Best core) that was tough using one of those. I had higher hopes for them personally. Although getting them pollished up helps a lot. Just wondered what your experience has been with those?

I'd have to say that my experience with Peterson's "Bogeys" has been similar to what you described. They seem to work exceptionally well on simple locks with an even topography. However, I haven't had any luck with them on any of my tougher locks.

Like you, I really like the new pry bars. They don't seem to slip as much as the older style, and they appear to be easier to reposition when necessary.

Whereas my original Bogota set I use on the high and low bittings of Wilson Bohannan padlocks.

Are the new Pry Bars the ones without teeth? I lost my old set and was considering ordering the new ones but I was not sure.

Think the ones without teeth are the Flat Five set. All my prybars have teeth.

The old one I had also had teeth. It looks like Peterson released some new individual pry bars with no teeth.

Actually, the pry bar included with the Ghost Set is toothless; however, I believe that they are also available with teeth. To be honest, I'm not really missing the teeth on this one.

... Also, I forgot to mention that my all except for one of the tools included in my "Flat Five" set have teeth. And of course both of my original pry bars have teeth as well.

Alright, that's it! I just pulled the trigger and ordered a set from SEREPICK.

Well, now my wallet is a little bit closer to complete. I just received my first Bogota set.
