Well... not exactly my first. I've made a few others that technically work, but I'm not happy enough with them to unleash them on the world. These, I think they're pretty good.
Completely hand made, except for cutting the material at the beginning and a quick trip to the buffing wheel at the end. I've been practicing with these, so they're not quite in perfect condition here, but they shine up real nice.
I used a windshield wiper blade for material, since I don't think we have any street sweepers around here. Turns out it's a bit too wide. I can't get the spring on all the way and I had to taper the end. The taper is a little ugly, but it works. I'm thinking about laying the blanks down on some rough sandpaper and see if I can get a better width next time. But until then, I'm pinning these to the inside of my coat with pride.
However, if you're into this sort of thing, watch this space. My next project is a more conventional pick set on a grinding wheel.
