DIY lockpick case

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Nothing fancy here. Just wanted to share with everyone an idea that everyone can afford and will have the material to build. And yes that is duct tape...lol

Nice! I started with those and I still carry a tiny one made of electrical tape. If you have that amount of patience and craftiness try some simple leather working. I went to a craft store and got some leather and leather cement and then made the rest of the tools necessary for pretty cheap. Great job and keep at it.

I also recommend nylon or leather, but why leather cement? :)
Sewing isn't difficult, a child can do that. It doesn't need to be perfect, even and especially on handmade things.
You can also learn how to use a sewing machine in less than 30 minutes.

@Forestfire1776: Nice work, though. :D

The leather cement is to hold the leather together while you stitch. You cut the leather to the desired shape and then use the glue to keep it in shape while you use the awl to make the holes and then saddle stitch through the holes. You don't really need the specific leather cement (it's pretty expensive), you can really use any glue. I liked using leather because I didn't need a sewing machine and it will last forever.

I've been contemplating picking up some scrap leather and cheap tools and making a nice pocketable case. Something I wouldn't mind showing off

If you make your own tools you almost have to make your own case too. That or everything ends up is a small box. It's so hard to find something that holds everything nicely.

Looks good. It would go well with a duct tape wallet!!
