Egg lifter wrench

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Egg lifter wrench

Postby streak » 22 Jun 2015 15:11

I bought a stainless steel egg lifter at the dollar store.
I cut out one of the pieces and turned it into a top of keyway tension wrench.

The metal is quite soft and will bend if too much tension is used. As a new lock picker it forced me to apply less tension than I have been and managed to get my test locks open using top of keyway which I have not had much practice doing.

May have limited use in the filed but a useful training tool.

Great Idea...force yourself to use lighter tension...I am going to have to try this. I am heavy handed at times. thank you for the tip

you can pick your friends
But don't pick your friends locks :)

I like it too! While making picks the most boring part is to roughly shape the blank. By using this tool you got an almost perfect blank. I'll keep an eye open while reorganizing old kitchen drawers...

Well done

Not bad! You might try making one out of a hacksaw blade next.

I'll try a hack saw blade one of these days.
The attraction of the egg lifter was not having to do much rough grinding.
