When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with picking Abloy locks using the H&H decoder/pick. If so, does it really work? Furthermore, will it work on an Abloy 330? Here is the video in question https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnH9OSvdtFE

I suspect that there is a reason the video is animated... Although I could see in theory how it could work, it is likely to be a great deal more difficult than in the video, and that's only with the old Abloy Classic.
In addition to that there are certain problems I imagine are inevitable. If it picks perfectly from back to front, easy. If however your binding discs are all over the place it'll be much more difficult to navigate the tool in and out.
I can not see how it could possibly work on newer models such as the Protec 2, which have an additional mechanism which makes individual disc manipulation impossible...

It doesn't work. A member of this forum made one that works, but it's advanced material and I can't talk about it in the open forum. Cheers

Nor can we discuss why the H&H pick does not work with most Abloy Classic locks these days.

Thanks,
I looked at the protec2 and it looks like I will need to research the ball bearing a bit more to pick that one. Right now, I am really only interested in Abloy 330. Guess I need to wait for super membership before I can join.

Is there another pick currently on the market that you guys would recommend?
I have no experience with picking and have been mostly playing around with different shims. This will be my first time actually picking a lock, and though I understand the way different locks work, for example the Abloy is a cylinder, you also have the standard lock with pins that you can open using a bump key.

Abloy protec pick? Got about $10,000 - $12,000 and government authorization? Then you can try the Falle pick. Otherwise, good luck.

and that usually concerns us when someone is here just to get into one particular high security lock. What's that Abloy 330 Protec currently locking? and why not just cut it off if you need to get into whatever it is securing? It's not pickable, so even if you get Advanced membership, we don't have instructions for picking a Protec there. Squelchtone

It is not securing anything at the moment. just lying around the house.
I am mostly into shimming using different materials, ie coke cans and though it worked with other padlocks I had around the house, it did not work with the Abloy 330 because of the ball bearing. I was interested in seeing if there were any other ways to open it.

Not to mention that the PL330 can have numerous styles of key. Protec, High Profile, Sentry and Novell that I am aware of. Probably others.
