My tuxedo kit came in!

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

My tuxedo kit came in!

Reason: [img] tags only work when the link is to an image and the URL ends in .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .png, etc, not a website where there image is embedded. also, you dont want to use IMG for pictures bigger than 800x600, yours is 1,652px × 2,938px so I'm making it

I took your photo, uploaded it to my imgur account, went to Edit, then Cropped it and Saved, then Resized to 800xwhatever and now you can show it properly on the forum.

Q:why do we have to resize pics to post here?

A:modern cell phones take photos with enough MegaPixel resolution that you could print a dorm room poster size photo, for a forum post we don't need a photo that huge, so we resize to 800x600 so it fits well on a monitor in case someone is still running 1024x768 (gives room for the blue and white menu on the left side of the forum)

Here's a direct link to the resized photo: http://i.imgur.com/PxdsEx8.jpg?1

or use [IMG] tags like this:

Hope that helps,

If you live in the US how much was the kit with shipping? I have been wondering if the current exchange rate for CA to USD is applied and then the charge shows up in USD on your credit card.

It's a good set. First one I got was a tuxedo. If I was to add anything it would be :

Offset hybrid

Worm rake
http://www.sparrowslockpicks.com/product_p/10.htm

And some top of the keyway wrenches.

Congrats!

What would the offset hybrid be used for over say a medium hook

You get more of a half diamond point on it. Sometimes it works better for me. A lot of people swear by the Peterson gem, which is pretty much what sparrows calls the hybrid.

Ok, I will get it, I was looking at their .015 picks and couldn't find anything like it. Seems like it would be useful, would I have to get the gem from peterson in that width or would you have another possible suggestion? Also I do have the pry bar set, picked 2 5200s so far.

You don't have to have one. It's definitely not a required thing. Looks like sparrows doesn't have a slim one. I'm not sure about other companies, but Peterson has them in .015 and .018. Part number PG-SS and PG-SS-18 respectively.
