When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.
Got my new Southord TPXA-7 tubular pick today. Wouldn't you know it, I broke the center pin... Using light torsion! Anyways, is there a quick hardware store replacement i can use? I tried searching the net and don't see any actual replacements.
Thanks. I emailed them. It looks like a run of the mill roll pin. I wonder if I can mic the diameter and go find some at Ace or Home Depot then cut them to length... Hmmm
They had me mail it to them for a free replacement with free return shipping. FYI, it works fine without the guide pin. It still impressions and opens and closes the cam - Just need to pay attention to lining up your tool with the hole
It's been my experience (so far) that the pin makes little difference. Keep in mind I've only played with a handful of tubular so I'm not speaking from loads of experience. As for the roll pins, harbor freight sells an assortment of them for pretty cheap. Maybe good to keep some spares on hand?
