Sparrow SSDeV Hooks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Sparrow SSDeV Hooks

Postby Surfinbird » 21 Feb 2022 14:16

Hey folks,

New to the forum and just wanted to share a quick review on some Sparrow picks I purchased.

As indicated, I bought their SSDeV hooks. One is ultra slim and feels like it's gonna break, although it has not yet.

Another hook is like a standard full hook but ultra thin. This one is worth buying the whole package. The last hook is between the last two I described. Aside from the one super thin hook, I like the set and would highly recommend them to add to your set. Since getting them, I am finding it easier to navigate inside those tighter keyways and padlocks would banging the pick around. It has also allowed me to locate and identify individual pins without the same problem of bumping into an already set pin.

I am curious if anyone else has purchased these and what you think of them. I always used to make my own picks and it's a breath of fresh air to be able to simply purchase the tools you need and not spend hours creating new picks for the more complicated locks.

I was thinking about purchasing them as I was pleased with Sparrow's 0.020" lockpicks. What size did you get, the 0.025" or 0.015" set?
