HPC 1200 Punch Card Holder

Could anyone help out with some tips/tricks to hold your cards for your HPC 1200 Punch machine. Without the worry of damaging them? I checked HPCworld.com and it completely surprises me that they don't have a holder for these tedious cards.

In my van, I keep the cards on their side so that the right side is up. That way I can read the card number and manufacturer. They are held in a modified sturdy cardboard box (from an American puck lock hasp box if I remember correctly) cut to size to minimize rattles. The box is screwed down on the work bench and has no top. I have them set up in groups. from front to back: Acura/Honda, Other imports/Geo/Kia/Toyota, Ford/Lincoln, Gm, Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth, Residential/Commercial, Cam/Cabinet/Mailbox..., and micrometer cards. Groups are separated with thick card stock.

HPC makes (or used to make) a binder for storing cards for the regular Blitz. It doesn't come with the base model Blitz but as I recall it is included with the other models. I wonder if that one would work with the cards from the 1200 punch model. I checked once and it was rather pricey to buy it separately though. Just to buy a replacement page for the binder was something like $15 or $20 if I remember right. Been a few years since I looked them up.

My experience has been - the 1200 PCH in the road unit has the cards stored in a "tupperware" type of box with a lid. The tools for adjusting the machine and extra punches are in the bottom, with a heavy cardboard separator on top, then the cards sit on top of that. NEAT, CLEAN, and I can find anything needed to punch keys, or adjust the machine in one location.

The cards are kept in the "numbered order" - with the cylinder and cabinet keys on top, cars on the bottom, as we don't cut many cars anymore.

Never a problem even in extreme cold weather.

I am using a box a deadbolt came in. It works well for me, though I only cut about five different kinds of keys so the relevant cards are all really easy to thumb through.

Im using a couple file boxes made for cd's. I keep about 3 cards in each plastic sleeve. It has a fold down lid, and the individual sleeves hang down, using a rail on the side like a filing cabinet. One box has all the C cards, and the other has all the CF, CEX, CX, CMC, etc. It keeps the cards in great shape and easy to find the card you need. It was a buck each for the boxes at a garage sale.
