What brand are the indicators, shutterstuff? And are they 0.001, 0.0005, or 0.0001? I'd try to contact Simon and see if he knows anything. http://www.simon-says.net/

I mean the dials. They look like they're graduated 0.0001" It almost looks like they say Craftsman. That's unusual though, I didn't think craftsman made dial indicators. Now I know. I think it's cool someone put those on the machine. I don't know if they would make the cutting more accurate though, as I think they are used as a convenience rather than a reference.

They were installed in the 70's by the guy I purchased it from. They are .001 and accurate enough to cut originals that the discs do not exist for the dimensions. I love the concept of the discs as cutting a master key system is real fast compared to the 1200.
It seems the Jensen Micro dials key machines are based on small lathes. Yours look like a Unimat SL lathe was converted to a code machine. I have a Jensen Micro Dial based on a Sherline lathe . I got it used and I even ordered parts from Sherline to repair it. A bit slow to use but very accurate. The Ilco disc machine was still used and taught during my locksmith classes in the 80's . It was the last time I operated one, seems the HPC 1200s dominated the market. Cool seeing all the old machines on this thread.
