Nissan ID46 transponder programming with Mini Zed Bull

Postby KWW2 » 15 Oct 2018 6:46

Hi.. Does anybody know if it possible to DIY program additional 2007 UK model Nissan Micra transponder keys (e.g. using a Mini Zed Bull) pls? I have a Mini Zed Bull, It identifies the key / transponder as:

ID: XXXXXXXX (an eight character hexadecimal code)
Mode: Locked
Chip: PCF7946
Type: 46 Crypt Philips

When I try to clone the original key / write to a new key transponder, I get an error message: "This type of transponder can't be copied from the key itself".

The circuit board inside the original key is marked
KALEX3
VDO
and the blade is stamped Valeo. The circuit board is almost square but with a short leg from a corner on which is mounted what looks like a tiny coil.

Has anybody any suggestions for DIY programming this pls?

FYI, the "target keys" are:
1 A complete blank key with remote, transponder, and an uncut blade bought on ebay.
2. A used (visually identical) key from a scrapped Nissan (Qashqai, I think) plus a blank blade.
3 A new transponder key from a later model Micra with a virgin ID46 chip bought on ebay. The remote control may not be compatible with the 2007 Micra. I'm not concerned about remote entry.

Regards

KwW (Dublin, Ireland).

oy, Welcome to the forum mate, but why are ye posting this in the Ask Beginner Hobby Lock Picking Questions area? Please save the moderators some time from moving threads around to keep the forum tidy.

The Locksmith Business Info is the area you seek: viewforum.php?f=41, we even have a Key Machines and Programmers sub forum here: viewforum.php?f=42

I will move your thread over there, perhaps some of our forum members who are locksmiths will see it and be able to help you out.

cheers

You wouldn't be able to clone the chip, but it can be programmed in, but I don't believe with the mini zed bull.

I get calls from folks, couple of times a month saying "I bought my own key, can you cut it and program it for me"?

Always makes me feel good to say "NO"

But it does make me curious about programming these transponder keys

Well a x100 tool pad 2 works amazing if your in America :) programming is something I got into but some times I do wonder is it worth it!!

The cost of the equipment doesn’t always guarantee the return my friend bought a silca something or other 14k zee full for something around 12k Mercedes programmer 4K vag programmer 1.2k tango which I believe is around 1k.

Personally I run a sec e9 and a x100 toolpad I also use the silca with Knox cloning machine but I’m just going to sell that on and opt for true code. This will cover a vast range of vehicles and true code does program through directly the obd but it is also compatible if you have to go through the eeprom.
