Pawn Shop Find

Postby stratmando » 11 Dec 2020 10:54

Stopped By this one Pawn Shop I like to go to when on the Mainland, Always find a good deal on something. Yesterday found A HPC Speedex, 4 Jaw for $50. They didn't recognize the HPC lettering.
On the Paperwork it said "Dayton Gray Rotary Tool". A quick Google Search, said over $400. Didn't need it, have a Blitz, an ESP, 3 or 4 others, just can't pass up a good deal. Was reading something about cutting a Key from the plug? Any Input on these Machines, Thanks
In the '70's I was an Electronics Tech. Bought a Fender Twin Reverb for $40 as is, Broken.
Saw one tube socket was replaced, and keyway was 180 degrees off, Desoldered the wires, reversed the socket in its hole, reattached the wires, worked like a charm. Loved Pawn Shops ever since. I actually search and buy Broken Electronics on eBay. Can find Rare stuff. And things I couldn't afford otherwise

I always like a good find!!

I’ve been looking for a great deal on a blitz but never seem to find one. If I do it’s always 2000 miles away and just got sold!!

You ain't kidding, They don't give it away. Am sure they didn't give him $50.

I bought a Nice Broken Bass Effects Pedal on Ebay, the way they described it, thought maybe they used wrong Polarity Power Supply, most things are tip Positive, Many Effects Pedals are tip negative, Applied Correct Polarity(tip negative) work fine. I am not trying to take advantage of them, paying the price they are asking.
Nice Machine.
