FUKI Japanese key machine

Postby Peter Martin » 2 Jan 2022 22:36

Recently one came up for sale locally. It appears sturdy and has narrow/wide jaws.
I have never heard of his brand before -- but apparently they've been around since at least 2012.

Does anyone have information on this brand? Or an old advertising brochure?

Doctor Google tells me that FUKI by that name has been around since 1971...

Is this the model you saw? The FUKI FC-5 ?

From Linkedin page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/fuki-co.-ltd/about/

"Started in Tokyo in 1958 by selling mainly key blanks and was originally called the Goto Corporation.
In 1968, began manufacturing and selling the first key machines in Japan. The name was changed to FUKI in 1971, which comes from the Japanese name for a flower called a butterbur, and is meant to symbolize the company's growth, strength, and long life.

FUKI has expanded rapidly over the years and now manufactures and sell a wide variety of security related products including: key blanks, key machines, locksmith tools, finger print locks, electric locks, exit control systems, card key systems, security cameras, sensor lights, and other security items. Novelty items such as key chains and name tags are also sold.

FUKI now has five main offices in Japan as well as many Key Corner shops in most cities throughout Japan.

There are some other models for sale on an Japanese Yahoo auction site https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/closedsearch/closedsearch/fuki%E3%82%AD%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9E%E3%82%B7%E3%83%B3/0/

looks like they may be under a new name, iNAHO https://fuki4169.com/inahokeykeymachine/index.php

I could not find any advertising or user manuals.

Squelchtone: that's exactly the type of machine I am seeing. The one I see is listed on eBay a smaller motor--so that part is different. They appear well built and sturdy, so the general construction I noticed looked positive.
It was interesting enough that it caught my eye. I am only concerned that I may never find a new cutter for it--if it's not a standard .500" diameter shaft. But that may never be an issue, except in my mind.
Interesting that this company has been around so long, but hasn't really made much inroads into the US market.

Looking at their site, I see a key warding mill so you can make or modify key blanks. Similar to a Keyway King. Unfortunately, I don’t read Japanese, and even with Google Translate, I still can’t find a price or where to order one.
