My "new" ILCO 008A

Got this off eBay when the seller offered a discount. I couldn't pass up the deal.
It arrived. Good condition, everything works smoothly. I had to make some adjustments to a bent key guide and the key follower.
Looks like a new (or nearly unused) belt. The cutter is relatively sharp. At some point in time the left knob was replaced, but this one works fine.
I will start cutting keys tomorrow and see how accurate it is.

Nice score! I'm wondering if my dad still has his old one.

Schweet!

I see one now on ebay for $399 but it looks like a 12V motor...

I have a 008 original model from years ago mounted in a tool box. It always cut well with depth keys for doing cabinet lock work.

I actually have 3 of these old-style 008 machines, right away I learned to hate the missing brush for key deburring but they will cut a 3rd gen key when the bushings & spindle are in good shape

For a hobbyist or someone just staring out they work pretty well. Couldn't imagine using one though if you were a busy locksmith. I had a new 12v one we got in a trade so I modified it to run on a cordless drill battery and put a slotter on it. Makes a nice little portable machine for safe deposit work.

First thing you need to do is get rid of that cover, this machine needs to be oiled before use

I forgot to mention that I never use the key gauge, it's flimsy & easily goes out of adjustment. Instead I gauge my keys using the tracer & the cutting wheel
