What machine do you recommend buying to make car key duplicates?

Also what a transponder, which ones do you reccomend?

Im kind of novice at these machnes please help. :)

Don't know what country or area your in but :

my set up:
Programmer: TKO
Programmer: MVP PRO
Cutter: HPC 1200CMB
Cutter: 3D PRO Xtreme

I have a couple of duplicators but they are packed up since I ever use them.

Blanks you need totally depends on your market. Buy a bundle set from americankeysupply.com & hlflake.com is nice as well.

Hawley Lock supply currently has two of the older Framon Sidewinder machines for $795
I personally hate mine, but last time I called Framon and asked if they had a trade-in program for a real machine, as mine was such a POS, they told me that I was All Wrong and that the original Sidewinder was a great machine. I tried it again, but I still think it's the biggest POS Ever!!!!
I'm sure it's much better than that import machine...

Get something close to home so you have back up, its like programmers if you bye a copy who you going to call when you need help.
It mite cost a lot more form your locale supplier but it will be worth it when your stuck..

So youre primarily gong to be doing sidewinder keys, eh?
I hope you have deep pockets....to be waiting for those few and far between jobs.
Why not start with a 3D pro or Miracle A9? Then you have more versatile machines that do more than that junk can do.

Heck, I have a brand new Hudson (the original of that copy) in the box.....you can have it for $350.00 (and I dont do cars - by choice)

Personally i know the guy, who has one of this chinese invention :D , don't know if this model exactly but pretty much similar look like. It used to run for couple months but broke up all of a sudden, wasn't profitable to repair it.
It might be good for a start, but if you can manage it seems to be better idea invest in something more solid.

hello, if you have a local locksmith in the area, why not start there? find out what machines they use and find out why. in fact, why not ask them to let you try them out while you're there, with their direction of course, and on a slow day, and be willing to assist them for free in cutting, lets say 150 keys for a large order. you will really get a feel then for what makes a good machine versus no good. sometimes, you need to invest large sums to reap LARGER benefits. there is a reason why HPC machines are rather costly. because they have proven themselves in the field time and again.
just a thought, hope this helps.
some some afterthought here...
what is the goal of your business? do you desire to be primarily auto oriented? or are you going for more commercial oriented business? or mayhaps you would like the residential market? how about electronic access control?
as far as machines, there is a large pool to draw from. i think, mayhaps, you might want to solidify how you want your company to be perceived in the market, i think you will find that this could be a better guide as to which machine you will need . should you be an individual with a surplus of financial income, than i think the best start up package would be:
1= HPC 1200 CMB Blitz
2= gem tubular key machine
3=ITL 9000
4= Borkey key duplication machine
5= MVP PRO
6=Extreme Pro 3d
7= Framon flat steel cutter / slotter
8= MUL-T-key machine
9= Blue Punch BP201
hope this helps
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I am thinking of buying this machine too for they key concession I am starting at a lea market. It is the exact same machine that Hudson sells they just import it and mark it way up. There are a few videos of it floating around online. You might cut a sidewinder or 2 a day so this machine would probably last until you can afford a better one.

put it back in the box and begged to return it at My own cost. Thank G-d Key Sales allowed me to send it back!

This machine looks like a knock off of the ESP 339. Knock Offs seem to always be crap. The real thing looks like it has decent reviews.

The ESP 339C is pretty much junk too. Idk who had it first as theirs looks like the DEFU 339C but with their sticker on it. The 339C in any brand had the better vise than the 368 model. Several people I know and the reviews I’ve seen, aren’t good with the ESP model. It’s almost always missing parts is the biggest problem. So paying more for same unit wouldn’t make sense either. Personally, do what you need to do to start off then upgrade to something more reliable when you can afford too. Turning away work until you can afford the expensive one doesn’t make sense either. Good luck!
