New Programmers

Postby charby » 5 Nov 2017 23:14

Hi all,

Been looking into getting a new Programmer currently using MVP PRO and the Pro tablet keeps getting delayed. Has anyone here Picked up or heard much about these other options?
The Xtool AutoPro Pad , the Smart Box , or the IEA Zed Full. The Zed Full is really the only one I have heard from someone who uses it and they like it , but it is also the most expensive and requires a yearly subs.

I just gotten into vehicle programming, zed-full is amazing i have used it personally and tokens are cheaper then the mvp. I also just purchased the x100 pad and to be honest it has been pretty good it is over the top on extra features but programming keys is simple enough and it is updated regularly.

I have tried silca sbb which i haven't had much luck with at all, very select on the vehicles it programs well in the UK atleast.

I have also purchased the Key pro m8 which is basically a clone of the mvp and works the same except with cheaper tokens.

I hope this helps.

Also on the zed full it is good if you got to program directly into the eeprom, but in my experience it is mainly Toyota that need it.

Tablets I believe are the future and cheapest alternatives. If you got the cash I would suggest zedfull if not go for a tablet.

When I get a chance to sit down I will record a video of a few features for you.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm looking for an updated programmer to replace my CK100 unit. I'm seeing more and more smart keys so I want to be prepared. I'm leaning towards an OBDSTAR X100 PROS but don't know enough info if its a good move. I watched a couple reviews but didn't see any on hands testing. I also heard the new XTOOL PAD series is good. Whatever it is I need it to work on all vehicles (north american)

So far, the CK100 unit, for me anyways, has been able to program every Ford vehicle (key only) that has come my way except for smart keys. Tried a newer Escape and it failed. Worked on Mazda/Ford vehicles no problem.

Chrysler / Jeep - WIth a PIN code, it was also 100% successful with every Chrysler product. (key only)

GM vehicles on the other hand, were hit and miss. If it's a circle plus key, then I would say it was 100% successful. Sometimes it wouldn't connect the first time around but unplugging and plugging it back in proved to work. The older generation keys (B99 style keyway) never seems to work (2000-2006 approx). It was always an 'ecu disconnected' error.

Nissan, successful 100% of the time but only programmed a handful of vehicles. (Titan, Maxima, Sentra - mid 2000s)

Looking for advice on what to get without spending thousands.

Update: Went with the Smart Box from locksmith resource. So far no issues programmed everything we have tried so far, one nice feature I like is the Nissan BCM codes are converted for you ( new and old 4 digit code not the newer 20 digit rolling codes). Fairly cheep compared to the others out there but does charge $10 per token billed at the end of the month which is seeming the new norm now unless you go with one of the china knockoffs.

Hope this helps anyone looking for a new programmer.

Also just received the new AD smartpro las week, Works great so far as expected just super expensive on top of token cost.

You can get the same result with the Tango by tradelocks no need for tokens but you do need to buy the vehicle package as a addon.
