... and "Code Duplicator". An interesting old key machine, but very rusty and unloved. Looks simple enough. I never heard of this company before. The parent company is a spring manufacturing corporation.
My first portable key machine, my Dad gave it to me back in 1990--I still have it around here somewhere. It also cuts by code using an Ilco code wheel--better make every cut one depth shallower & file the key the rest of the way by hand...
BTW mine came without a motor, it had a hand crank on the other side of that pully, it cut really bad keys which is the only reason dad gave it to me. I bought an Ilco 008 a short time later, this 'super cutter' convinced me I needed something better
I went looking for information on this... Associated Spring Corp. bought out Bowman (a replacement parts factory) in 1964, and ASC changed their name in 1976. So, this key machine would be made in that 12 year span. Pete Sioux Falls, SD

Wow... a hand crank like the 1920s Yale! Nice modification for after the apocalypse.
I haven't seen mine in years but my recollection was that it was made out of pot metal instead of cast iron, like a real key machine. There was a lot of flex in mine between the carriage & the cutting blade, I mean rotary file cutter
To make things more convoluted, Bowman Distribution bought Curtis Industries' key duplication business years ago; then the renamed Barnes Distribution division was sold to MSC Industrial.
