Does anyone know if the CASMA Speedy KS-3000 has an adjustment for centering the door?

not sure if this is what you mean, but the cut sheet suggests that you can move the entire closer within it's floor box in the X and Y lateral directions using 2 screws under the cover plate, and then there are more adjustments for closing speed and latch speed:

I think that will give me a little of what I need. Looks like you loosen the screws, pry the closer into position and then lock the screws down. Since these closers are so cheap I think I'll just order a new one.

Cledry, I know its a month later and yet again, missed a good question on floor closers,

most of them closers such as the Casma speedy its just a matter of loosening the alignment screws on the body of the sides of the closer inside the box, also some may have an arm similar to what Rixson uses (with bolts on both sides to center its arm to make door center in the opening,

I have not yet came across a speedy yet, but most of them you take off the plate and its sii similar to the RTS 84 or the Jackson 20-330 just slightly modified to be used in the floor (and different spindle shape)

replacing with another closer, please try to align it the best you can before you decide to put another in its place!

Turned out is had already been replaced, and should be replaced again. The CASMA BTW adjusts by removing the spindle which just drops in, it is splined and you just rotate a spline or 2 and pop it back in. This was a Jackson replacement which is smaller so the box had already been replaced. It was so rusty we decided to leave it alone until it stops functioning!

Jim, your the second person to show me a "crispy critter" so far THIS MONTH (a floor closer that is soo rusty you can hardly make out what series/brand it was) if it was one I seen and had to work on, probably give some effort to scrape off that rust and put some rust inhibitor on it and put it back in floor and put caulk or silicone seal along edge of box and put coverplate back on so it won't get any worse then it got.

I think the best looking old floor closer I have seen soo far was a Rixson #30 I spotted in a middle school I attended a play at today, that thing, someone must been thinking oddly or got bored and got investigating one day and they took off the coverplate (or lost the 4 screws) and applied wax to the floor (and left it that way for god knows how many years now!) not one speck of rust on it, with all the layers of floor polish and wax, I highly doubt it would be easy to turn the 2 valve adjustment screws. that school has been known to have lots of "naked" LCN 4040's losing their covers, and now the one floor closer?? LOL! :D

I refer to your quote, if it isn't broke don't fix it.

If the customer wanted this worked on they are getting a new unit and new box, the whole nine yards. If I touch this and it acts up I get a call back on my dime. I am not a believer in saving the customer money at my expense. I replace when something looks like this rather than repair. I learned early on a few things that have stuck with me through my career. Don't sell the customer something they don't need; don't repair when a replacement is a more logical option; don't accept water or food from customers until the bill is paid; and know when to walk away from a job; don't underestimate the value of your knowledge and labour; don't try to set lower prices than your competition to get more business.
