New Van!

Already an established locksmith? Trying to get your new locksmith business off the ground? Need training or licensing? Have to get bonded and insured? Visit here to talk about running a locksmith business day to day, including buying a van, renting a store front, getting business cards and invoices made up, questions on taxes, pricing out jobs, what to spend on tools and what works and doesn't in advertizing.

If we were talking about the magnets available 5-8 years ago, I'd be in the same camp as 2octops, but they've come a long way. Anymore you can get full color, photo quality printing, and the only limitations for size have to do with available space on your vehicle instead of a fixed size magnetic sheet.

Now, that's if you go get some nice professional magnetic signs made. If you were thinking about our dear friends over at Vistaprint, with their max size just a little over 11x17, and ranging from cheesy to downright awful in premade designs, take your hand off of the mouse and step away from the keyboard, really truly, go see a professional. If you wouldn't put a Brinks or Defiant on a customer's door, you shouldn't put an inexpensive and poorly designed advertisement on your vehicle. ;)

Hey, I got a magnetic sign from Vista print and it's fine. I put it on the back of my van & it says:

Midway Chevy
Ripped Me OFF
Don't Let Them
Get You TOO!

I understand that officially makes me a nut, but if I can keep one person from getting screwed over there it will make me feel a little better.

A nut perhaps, but one with a heart of gold.
