THATS THE WORST ONE,
You die and leave your money and property to someone and they get to pay it to the state as a death tax
Im sure you get taxed when you are born as well somehow
Why dont the goverment just take all my earnings and then give me a little back each week for pocket money?
Oh hang on, thats right, they ALREADY DO THAT

And some of you now realise why I left the UK. Unfortunately, I'll have the culture shock of returning in a few years, as there's a 6 year cap limit on work permits, which came into effect a few years ago.
If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

go somewhere else then mick, why not try spain or italy or something, they're in the EU, fairly warm and you should still have a UK passport so no-one minds you working there. they might end up with rip-off taxes though since it is EU....oh well.
cant you get citizenship in bermuda and stay there permanently?

You might want to organize a meeting with the other locksmiths in the area and all try to sort out a common pricing schedule. This will benefit all of you in the long term. You don't have to agree on pricing, but should probably all be in the same area.
In many areas, locksmiths pass business to each other if they are busy or they don't have the necessary equipment.
One good way to meet other locksmiths is to try and organise training sessions with manufacturers or distributors.and then invite the other people along. If you do some good organising, you can get away with this for just the cost of some pizzas or providing a meeting location.
