Already an established locksmith? Trying to get your new locksmith business off the ground? Need training or licensing? Have to get bonded and insured? Visit here to talk about running a locksmith business day to day, including buying a van, renting a store front, getting business cards and invoices made up, questions on taxes, pricing out jobs, what to spend on tools and what works and doesn't in advertizing.

Me scared off ! nah.. not yet !

Hi all, thanks to all those that have put there pennies worth into my original question, all of your replys are off help, as pinky says, tis better to know all of the pit falls before i commit to training, that way there is gonna be fewer things to suprise me on my journey to become the greatest lock picker ever !! Lol... hey, ya gotta dream !

On another note, is there any safe crackers on here that look like charlize theron in the new 'Italion Job', now i would gladly loose my keys for her any day !..

again thanks to all that keep posting more information, i'm reading them all and taking notes.

Mint. :D

re: info locksmiths course

Postby ram211 » 22 Aug 2004 21:09

Hi seen your post about wanting to become a Locksmith it’s a good job is a little hard on the back & knees though, bending and crouching. if you got money falling out of your pockets you can go for one of the MLA courses which these days may start at about £300-£500 each !! woo still remember when use to be £30 for same one never mind times change! anyway back to plot. there is a very very good video cd’s locksmith course, even I with been a locksmith for 25 years sent for one on master keying something I forgot a little about, over the last years and needed to refresh up on cost me $47 - £30 just like old times again with a saving like that you can buy a key machine on every one. http://www.pick-a-lock.com first rate videos cd’s step-by-step easy to follow and if you get lost can re-wind and play it again.
Just remember if your in the UK to get the VCD not the (video cassette as they are on the USA format and not PAL we use here) and it will play on your computer media player
Hope this will help
