I changed my credit card processing company (for 24 hours) to NAB -North American Bancard last month. The first two times I used their service I was told the charge card was denied this was on saturday. On monday I called NAB and I was told that both charges actually went through and they didn't know why the telephone prompt told me they had been denied. At that point I sent a certified letter letting NAB know that I would no longer be able to do business with their company as I couldn't afford to have their machine saying No when it should be saying Yes, and that they should close my account immediately. That was back in August, last week I received notification that NAB had fraudulently taken money from my bank account illegally as I had closed my service with them. Now I had to close my account and open a new one to keep these lying liars from stealing more money from me. I should have believed all the bad reviews I saw about NAB, as they are thieves. I actually changed back to the company I have been using for almost 10 years, chase paymentech and I am happy with them. Fact is, if NAB hadn't lied to me from the start by telling me how much money they could save me over Chase Paymentech's rates I would have never changed.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with a bank. To be honest I don't like banks but in this day and age we need bank accounts :/. But on the other hand they are somewhat convenient lol. Contradicting isn't it.
I use Citibank so I'm all gravyyyyy

did you review your contract before you cancelled..?? cancellation fees are common, and would not be classified as "fraud".

According to the detail page the two $20 fees are for a monthly fee. My contract was a telephone only connection, with no equipment fees and my only fees were to be taken as a percentage of the charges I put through. I noticed online the cancellation fees are in addition to whatever has already been stolen from me. Thing that pisses me off is I should have known to close my account before they invented new things to begin charging me for.

The morale of the lesson is this - IF you are being solicited over the phone by any company, do not do business with them for any reason. We get tons of calls for this every week. If they ask if we take credit cards we say NO and hang up.
Truth be told our processing company has been with us since the 70's and I am not changing unless they go out of business. If that is the case then I will go down to the bank we normally do business and get a new account from them. Not some goof on the phone promising pie in the sky rates and GAWD only knows what else they may charge.
REMEMBER - IF it sound too good to be true, then it is a scam. Anything coming in without your previous starting the contact is probably out to get into your boodle bag.
Be smart, and avoid the sweet sounding deal, because in the end it will be a bitter pill to take.
Just some advise from 44 years of running a biz.

NAB never solicited me over the phone, whats actually worse is they advertise in every edition of locksmith ledger and the national locksmith, which makes it look like they have been accepted by the locksmith world. I actually spoke with the same salesman at NAB over the course of 3-4 months, carefully asking all the right questions--Unfortunately when the salespeople lie about the product, how can anyone know when up is really down, or left is actually right?

I'm young and newfangled, and for simplicities sake went with PayPal here, the little card reader that goes on your phone. 2.74% on swiped transactions, 3.5% + .50 cents on keyed transactions. It isn't a great rate, but it is very simple. I would have to start doing way more business before I would consider switching to a different system.

I have so far been able to resist buying a smart phone, by using an over the dumb phone system. This saves me at least $600 a year just in phone time, not to mention the cost of a new smarty phone, as I presently pay $45 per month for my dumb phone.
