Anybody heard got any reviews on yale franchises

Pull up a chair, grab a cold one, and talk about life as a locksmith. Trade stories of good and bad customers, general work day frustrations, any fun projects you worked on recently, or anything else you want to chat about with fellow locksmiths.

I depends on what skills you bring to the equation. Franchises are great for people who don't want to deal with things like Marketing, Process/Procedure creation, Accounting practices or choosing a software suite etc. The downside is the lack of freedom to run the business the way you want and the royalty/startup cost. If you feel you can competently handle most of these things yourself you are much better off going it on your own. Marketing is a key for small businesses and you should have an understanding of how your competition is advertising and what you would do differently to draw customers to you instead of them.

I didn't think Yale was even much of a force on the market anymore, but I strongly support very careful study of the terms and conditions of ANY franchise deal. I worked at a battery franchise store. The owner had to pay the initial buy-in, a monthly percentage of the profits AND he had to buy stock from the "company store." I said "hey, loads of people come in everyday, why not put in pop and candy machines?" He said corporate wouldn't allow it (?!).
