So I've read through a good deal of threads and haven't found one dedicated to weird stories of locksmithing, strange customers, threatening situations, awkward moments etc. I'm sure everyone's got one! and I love reading them. I am planning to start up my business in October but I can share one with you from my days as a door to door salesman selling windows and doors.
So I worked for a local window and door company going door to door giving the pitch for free estimates and appraising how much it would cost to install the products if they were interested. No one likes cold call door to door sales people (not even me and I was one) so I had a long day of doors being shut being cursed at and told to get a real job etc. So It is dark out around 6 pm in winter and I go up to the final house on my route and this very very large hairy fat man opens the door towering over me...I had no clue what to do...so I just started going through my sales pitch, thank god he didn't want me to stick around to give an estimate. My supervisor got a good kick out of that story he couldn't believe I actually just went into the sales pitch instead of walking away.
