Now this is what happens in our neighborhood ... from the local fish wrapper .. the Waukesha Freeman.
Employees at Mander Collision heard a loud boom, and 10 seconds later a huge chunk of steel came thru the roof leaving a four foot hole. (That a half block from us) .. Waukesha Fire Marshall Chadsworth said a compressed natural gas cylinder was being "processed" at Waukesha Metal and Iron, The three foot by 12 inch cylinder was labeled as purged, but he guessed it was not. Two pieces of the tank landed in separate parts of the city. The top half went thru the roof of Mander, 1604 Manhattan Dr. and the other half demolished a fence in the yard of a home in the 900 block of Harding Ave. Both are about a quarter mile from Waukesha Iron .... The Fire Marshall continued, there was the potential for serious injury but luckily that didn't happen. The employees at Mander are freaked out, and the home owner is just glad it missed his house. A call to Waukesha Iron was not answered....
This is the fourth or fifth time something like this has happened over there. Several BIG FIRES and junk blowing out of the yard have sprayed our neighborhood. But this is in industrial part of town, so I guess we can expect something like this from time to time. Last year Metal Tech, a company that makes spinning castings had a little problem and this neighborhood ended up with a hunk of semi solid steel in somebody's back yard.
Frankly, I thought with all the road construction on Hwy 18 below us it was them just blasting something. Ya well, a little excitement in the area!
Just another day in the 'Sha ... Maybe Waukesha Iron should give N. Korea lessons on launching things!!! lolol
