Well it is Milwaukee's turn to burn. Last night there was an incident around the Sherman Park area. This is deep in the middle of the "war zone" - a BP station was burned, as well as O'Reilly Auto Parts store, a beauty supply went up and a grocery store at 37th & Burleigh. (Not one of our clients, although we do have a couple of accounts down that way.) ... Also a couple of cop cars were burned as well. (Source TV 58 the CBS affiliate this morning's report for an hour on the whole thing.)
The Mayor and City Council is asking for calm, and trying to appease the rioters, and there is a peace rally at Sherman Park this morning at 8, and I don't know how that went down.
MY best advise is to stay away from the area until this settles down. If you have a CCW. pack and take a spare clip along just in case you get caught in the middle of it and can't get away. Remember any thing you do could set off a bigger riot, so find a way to get out of Dodge FAST, and don't do anything stupid. Defend yourself if you absolutely can't do anything else, and then GOOD FAST.
For us any work EAST of 124th St. is out for the duration. i don't care who or when or how long they have been with us. MY business is more valuable to me as a working entity rather than get caught up in a senseless mess.
