On the road again ...

Pull up a chair, grab a cold one, and talk about life as a locksmith. Trade stories of good and bad customers, general work day frustrations, any fun projects you worked on recently, or anything else you want to chat about with fellow locksmiths.

On the road again ...

Well one needs more than locks to live. YA it has been my avocation for a good 50 years now, but I do a lot more than work. Radio comes to mind, but also this is another one of my hobbies ...

Shot yesterday ... JUST a few of the dozen or so ..

And for an afternoon, that was about it - there are a good dozen on the web - but these are the selected few...

So what did you do over the weekend?

I like trains 8)
I also like that you're posting some pictures. You usually just write, so I appreciate them even more.

This weekend was a very good one for me and my girlfriend: we had grilled fish with friends, went to a fancy restaurant, went to a lake and rented a small boat with our friends and... bought a safe on the way back home!

Cheers :)

Drove from Wyoming to southern CA to visit family. I forgot what is was like to be able see the air you breath ... Yuck! Drove straight through for 13 hours, only stopping for gas and pick up something to eat on the road. Started and finished an unabridged book on tape.

Spent some of that drive time thinking of original and creative ways to torture and kill "bad" people slowly and painfully. NI guess this one needs a bit of explanation so I don't get banned from the site for being a sociopath. I like gore and guts; horror/slasher movies and books are great. I LOVE Halloween. My yard is turned into a zombie feast, complete with rotisserie people on a spit and anamatronic props. Or at least is was in CA. In WY there is too much snow on the ground and it would ruin my stuff. So now I just help decorate the Wyoming Frontier Prison for their annual Halloween scary tours/haunted prison. Anyway, back to the original explanation. I read a lot of extreme indie authors. I found one that was REALLY extreme. I ended up contacting him and volunteering to help edit his next book. I also send over ideas for the protagonist to use. The protagonist only goes after bad guys, ones the law let slip through. In fact, here's a snippet quote from the introduction and description on Amazon. The book is "Politically Incorrect - If you’re a P.C. type person, do not read this book. This also pertains to rapists and molesters, or any scumbag for that matter." I was hooked at that point. The author is Wade H. Garrett in case you're intrigued.

I took my teenage daughters out to get their nose pierced. Not my idea and I don't like the way they look, but I'd rather take them some place I know is clean, sterile, and has good people working there.

Picked some locks and watched some LockLab videos on YouTube. Nothing impressive, just working my way up in difficulty.

Made a trip to Home Depot. The closest one to my home in WY is two hours away. We just have overpriced chain hardware stores in town.

Got ready for the holiday BBQ later today.

All-in-all not a bad weekend.

Ack!! How could I forget the best part!!! We have a liquor store with a limited selection of bourbons. I love trying new ones, so since I was in CA, I stopped by Total Wine and was able to knock four off my wish list!! WhistlePig, Angel's Envy finished in rum barrels, Jefferson's Reserve, and High West Rendezvous Rye. There we others I wanted, but I spent more the I wanted just on these four.

And for the bourbon snobs like myself, yes, I know three of them are not bourbons, they are rye whiskey's. I like the spicyness of rye forward bourbons (Basil Hayden, Bulleit, Four Roses, etc), so rye whiskey's are a natural extension of that.
