Thanks Gwiens2001 for the suggestions. I have a bad habit of presuming that everyone knows what I am talking about without giving enough details. I figure that someone who has actually solved the problem knows the details and can provide the solution. These hinges are three separate hinges like a lot of the new style cabinet hinges. They move the door out and open to about 120 degrees and then close it flush to the face of the file safe. They cannot have any screws in the outer skin because that is a somewhat sealed fire preventive layer or I would just rivet on a piano hinge. The hinges have specific cut outs where they seat in the door. There is not enough room to even relocate the mounting screws, and this wouldn't help anyway. I will call the Fireking dealer and talk to tech support about the matter. Possibly new hinges would tighten it up some but I am not optimistic. It is a really lousy design as people tend to lean on doors and the weight of the door will droop it again in no time.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.
