Sentry cruciform key

Postby Raymond » 29 Apr 2015 21:10

I have an old Sentry safe using a cruciform type key. I only have one key and would like to rekey it and cut duplicates. I know I can order cut keys by code from Sentry but do not want to use this approach.

Does anyone know from experience which Silca blank might fit a Sentry?

Thanks

Hi,
I also have a sentry cruciform key, so I assume it's probably the same as yours. I tried to find it in the cruciform catalogue here http://www.silca.biz/en/catalogues/124088/silca-keys-catalogues.html I couldn't find one that had the exact same dimensions, but the keyway on mine looks very similar to the yale XY4P, except that it doesn't have the cutout on the tip.

I actually tried that a couple of times, but since I was on the phone, just they kept saying "what, hello, are You still there?"

Used a XY4P in one before, and just cut the whole blank down at the length of the cutout side.

Thanks Gwiens2001,

Great that info was exactly what I needed. Cutting the blank down is no problem. I just had to know if the other dimensions were approximately correct.

That is why I asked for anyone specifically with 'experience' who had used one. Now I do not have to order several blanks with very little possible future use for the ones that do not fit.
