Breaching Nuclear Facility Security for Feds...maybe

Pull up a chair, grab a cold one, and talk about life as a locksmith. Trade stories of good and bad customers, general work day frustrations, any fun projects you worked on recently, or anything else you want to chat about with fellow locksmiths.

screw that. as cool as that sounds. i wouldn't want anything to do with that. if our government cant figure out a high security gun safe then there's something wrong.
im calling BS on the guy who walked in and started talking etc.
what was he wearing. did he show his ID? was it a large or small bi fold badge wallet? because military, federal, state, or SS have different size id wallets. I worked for a Law Enforcement company who sold everything from vests to ammo to anyone who was LE. and ive seen every kind of Federal badge. and i know a lot of them personally. and all of them just wouldn't go into a store and start blabbing on who they are.

sorry to burst your bubble but nope not buying this at all. Ive seen High security armors quarters before from delivering Barrett 50 cals and 40mm grenades and they dont have those residential safes.

I believe, as I said I have met a couple of very un-professional Homeland Security folks and I don't doubt
their loud-mouth, self-important ways.

As a Ham radio operator with ARES, we have to deal with Homeland Security. And they do have egos to match military pilots!

You would be surprised, but they do use outside contractors all the time for this sort of thing. I myself have opened and worked on vaults housing weapons and there was never any issues. As long as you pass the required background checks in most cases. However some like Homeland Security don't even require that as long as you are escorted by their people. I find defense contractors take security far more seriously. Granted I have never worked at a nuclear facility, but military and other places sure no problems.
