These aren't really lock related, but they're probably the two apps I use more than anything else. Both free, with no ads.

RealCalc - much better than the calculator that came on my phone.

ConvertPad - really nice unit conversion app. It'll convert pretty much anything you can think of.

OK, that one does have ads (there is an ad free version for $2.59), but I never really notice them.

I just double checked and you are the first complaint of dead links i have had this far.i found none. The app is nothing but consolidated links to programming electronic locks /safe locks. i appreciate the feedback though.

I'll reinstall it and give it another go. I was sure I had a bad link or two, but I'll test it again.

Reinstalled it and I must say a cursory look proves me wrong regarding the dead links. As such and for what it is, basically just links to information it functions well and it is free.

I have most pdf files preloaded already and GOOGLE finds the links generally without too much trouble, but the app makes it quicker. You might want to include a link to Digilock programming, I can never remember the procedure so I am sure others will have the same trouble. Another thought is put all the various tech numbers in the app and make it so clicking will dial the number.

On long click will dial directly to tech support if available and if not the front desk.
Also this app is now available on and compatible on almost every android device and operating system version from 2.3 to 4.2 . Coming soon to Google TV or a toaster oven near you

locksmith connect is great for automotive stuff but is rather limited when it comes to residential and commercial applications(at least at this time). i use it on an almost daily basis. it gives you all the needed info for auto key origination in a easy to use app. i would recommend it to anyone doing auto work.

Has anyone ever tried the Locksmith connects database program on a PC? It's supposed to be pretty elaborate and include inventory,invoices, labor/ pricing, etc...

how about a app that when you snap a pic of a keyway (or maybe do a rough drawing of it on a input screen would be easier to develop) So it can search its database for matches to supply user with what ever info it has stored about them

After looking at whats out there, I've been considering making my own app..

Things that I would consider to be of good use

1) Space and Depth Charts
2) Descriptions of various locks internals. If it has security pins, (to help picking/bypassing)
3) list of known picking techniques/bypasses for each lock (Eg if it can be shimmed, or bypassed with pick, hammer impact etc)
4) Lock/handle Disassambly instructions (various lock types)
5) Master Key System Calculator
6) Various handy techniques (use of shims etc)
6) Tips for Lock Picking (TOK etc)

All this information is out there, but it's not consolidated into a single location and easy to reference when offline..

Record My Call. (I record every call. Awesome for when your driving and can't write things down. )
To Do List widget (use it as a quick inventory list)
Calendar widget (set appointments)
Flashlight (very useful)
Barnicle WI-FI tether (for when I need internet on my PC)

that's about all I use.
I have several other PDFs on the phone but not set up as shortcuts on the home screen
oh and I never use it but have a locksmith app called Photo Key Reader as well.

Convertpad and Electro droid are great. I have a NAS device hooked up at my home, I can remote log into it from anywhere and have a phone app. Lets me save a lot more files and documents I need access to but might not want to keep on my phone. Anything I don't have can usually be downloaded off of google within a few minutes. Smart phones are amazing life savers. No more running back to the shop when you need to look up how to program a trilogy or need some small piece of information.
