Pull up a chair, grab a cold one, and talk about life as a locksmith. Trade stories of good and bad customers, general work day frustrations, any fun projects you worked on recently, or anything else you want to chat about with fellow locksmiths.

Hey, I am 17 and i am no locksmith but i want to work at a locksmiths buisness. Maybe pick up a few things and earn some money and maybe later they will take me on as an apprentice. But is there anyjobs for someone like me to do? I am still in Highschool and i don't want to look like a applying for a job where there is only one person working. I live in a small town ~15,000 people. And Advice would be great.

Most locksmiths are one-man-bands, and will do business (farm out calls) to other licensed locksmiths. In a small town, I would suggest working for a hardware store where they make keys and sell locks to get better acquainted with these things.
I know my Ace Hardware store has an employee on staff who happens to pick house locks if a customer should inquire. I'm sure in an informal situation as that, one might befriend such a casual locksmith and learn along side him. I don't know if apprenticeships for locksmiths exist these days, but then again, I don't live in Canada.
