Beware Allstate Roadside Service

Pull up a chair, grab a cold one, and talk about life as a locksmith. Trade stories of good and bad customers, general work day frustrations, any fun projects you worked on recently, or anything else you want to chat about with fellow locksmiths.

Beware Allstate Roadside Service

Postby billdeserthills » 10 Mar 2018 12:08

I got a call from them this morning, they wanted me to unlock a travel trailer and provided me with their credit card # and the address. My mistake was in not charging the card Before doing the work--Of course the card was declined. A call placed to them
did nothing for me but waste more of my time, while they insisted that my method of processing credit cards is at fault!--
Of course now I'll also need to call back on Monday and expend more of my time on hold while Allstate thinks up more clever excuses

This is gonna be a first time/last time situation for me, in the future anyone paying by credit card will be charged upfront

I called Allstate on Monday, their representative eventually felt the need to hang up on me
she called back a few minutes later and said she will get me a check sent out
I don't usually even talk to these type providers in the first place, I think I'll just go back to just hanging up on them

They hounded me many, many, many years ago when I was on call. It was a Saturday. They called at least 6 times over a 3 hour period. Wanting to know our availability and prices to unlock a Chevy blah blah blah. I told them, each time, that we did not do any form of automotive work. By the 6th time they called I said, in no uncertain terms, that if they called again I would contact the local police for harassment. They got the clue; never bothered any of the on call guys again.
