In short, yes. Any working locksmith should be bonded. Generally this is a requirement of your insurance provider, and it's a good idea regardless to protect yourself.
It used to be that a bond was a seperate issue, (and it can still be added seperately over and above insurance) but in reality in basically means the same as being insured.
Make sure to check the details if its listed in your insurance policy. The most common is what is called a "service blanket bond". It basically covers you for work you've done (not the actual performance of the hardware itself.)
