LocksmithVideoSchool is #1

Postby Red » 18 May 2004 13:04

We carry the entire certification course on our website. There are a lot of courses out there and this one is the ONE that I chose to carry because I think it is significantly better that many of the others on the market. The locksmith that designed the course has 35 years of experience and has has his own mobile locksmith business for almost as long. All of the courses are video on cd format- easy to use and the price; well, you can't beat it. It was $600 up until a few months ago.
Regardless of where you purchase the course you will have full email and phone support from him (Mike Gibson). **We are currently offering a FREE SouthOrd 14 piece lock pick kit with the purchase of the complete LocksmithVideoSchool certification course.***
Take a look at the course description on our website- I asked the owner of LocksmithVideoSchool if we could post some additional information to help aspiring locksmiths make a decision. You'll find all of his indeividual courses and full descriptions on the site as well.

has anyone tried this?

Postby Guitar_J » 12 Jun 2004 14:41

Just wondering if anyone has tried this... I'm considering getting it.. I just don't know... I know I won't become an expert with the course.. but I think it would give me the basics to be able to get my feet on the ground.. give me a good starting / jumping off point...

Perhaps I should wait and see what I make of what I've already ordered from lockpickshop.com.. I got a 20piece Southord sit and "The visual guide to lockpicking"

Let me know if anyone has anymore info on this course other than what Red has already said.

thanks
-Josh

Wonder if someone has them hosted? Are you serious?

These are copyrighted materials. We are talking about the videos which make up a part of a comercial locksmithing educational program.

While I am sure, given the nature of the internet that somebody has them somewhere, you certainly don't want to be asking about them. Unauthorized duplication of a copyrighted material is a criminal offence under the copyright act.

No, I'm not being anal really, the issue here is that the guy who made these CDs is just another locksmith trying to help people out. He deserves our support as well. If you are interested in the CDs, contact him through his web site, and ask for a few more samples. I'm sure he would be delighted to help you out.

I am serious. Go look at any of the software sharing programs. You can get almost any copyrighted software or movie for free if you know where to lool. I was just wondering if i could see a little(not the entire thing) more. To me i would be more likely to buy the entire set if i saw the first disc(or even 5 minutes of it) and loved it than if i only have a couple 5 second clips. Trust me I wasnt just out to hose the guy trying to make a living. I understand the problems with downloading everything and really i just wanted a little bigger sample so i could get a fair view on the tapes.

Missing pieces.

Oh, I do know what you mean, and your point is well taken. Every file sharing network is loaded with illegal copies of just about everything.

I think really the point I am trying to make is sensitivity.

I am personally in the locksmith field. While many of the other members of this forum are not. Despite the fact that in many places lock picks are perfectly legal, there is still some amount of doubt and suspicion in the minds of a lot of people.

For our members to go about asking for, or discussing anything that could be considered illegal could possibly create a situation where the integrity of everyone here is called into question.

While I doubt you intended any such implication, it is all too easy for others to jump to unfounded conclusions. There are many people who would look upon this forum in much the same light as if we were talking about making explosives.

I honestly do think that if you contact the creator through his website, http://www.locksmithvideoschool.com he would be more than happy to provide you with a larger sample.

Locksmith Course

Postby Red » 16 Jun 2004 9:35

This is a course for the beginner, no prior skill required. The 7 individual courses lead you all the way through the major aspects of locksmithing as well as how to start your own business. By the time you have completed the entire course & taken the exam you will be able to go out on your own (if you wish) or work as a locksmith for an established company.
My understanding is that there will be an advanced course available sometime next year.

Im considering taking that course as well. Im wondering though, how long is each video? Are they short like a 30 min thing or does it go in depth into the subject lasting an hour at least?
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture
