Do any of you guys know whether or not locksmiths tend to hire people to do just small work for them? I'm heading off for college and need a work-study job, i was going to look into working for a locksmith. This may be a dumb question but oh well :D

Best thing to do is call an ask. Do not mention this site or you will likely not be recieved well.

individual locksmiths usually don't want an apprentice. However there are some big lock shops that need people to duplicate keys, and sell locks. You can usually learn while your there.
Usually these shops have a main locksmith who does safes and stuff, and a couple of auto lockout guys driving around and getting dispatched.

Hmm.. well i'll try the individual guys first then the bigger places, i would rather work with an individual but if what you say is true i may not have a choice.
