Hi im am interested in becoming a locksmith and i read whether to go to penn foster or Ashworth, etc i know you dont necessarily have to be certified, ok that's finefine but my question is what if i want to start a small business and just does lock outs, (for now while i learn all of the important stuff you need to know) to be a do i need a license to put my name out there?

Please search the forum man, there are many threads answering laws and licensing questions already and fill out your profile so we know where you're from. Every state is different, so until we know what state you are from we can't say if you need a license or not. One thing is for sure, you'll need insurance in case you mess up someone's house door, business door, or car door.

whatever you do, don't name your lockout service: Anarchy Punk's Lockout... just sayin
