Doctor's Bag Key?

Postby high_order1 » 12 Apr 2023 16:30

Hello.

I have an oold EMDEE brand locking doctor's bag that came without the key.

I spent yesterday cutting a test key, and it mostly worked. Pretty happy about that considering I did it from a poor picture (share them with you below).

Think I messed up and damaged the temper of the metal I was using, so, I'll try again without power tools, or figure out if I can quench the test item I made.

In the interim; anyone have any leads on just finding one of these? I realize they don't lend much to perspective, but I would assume the key to be about 2". I can get some poor caliper measurements off of my test fitting if that might help, but I am unsure if my cuts really match what's needed; the lock was a little draggy and there was some in/out play on the key that seemed to affect rotation.

I'll set this up to get emails, but I won't have a lot of time next few days to respond.

Thank you for your consideration, the pictures:

Thanks!

I think the keyhole is smaller though.

I misspoke, it is a Schell made bag, it is their 'EMDEE' (M.D.) line of bags.
